Harvesting Guidelines

Sustainability | Cultivation | Induction | Harvesting | Reforestation

  1. Tree Maturity
    • Harvest only Aquilaria trees aged 7–12 years (plantation) or 15+ years (wild).
    • Resin should be fully formed—confirmed by GC–MS profiling or increment borer checks.
  2. Selective Harvesting
    • Instead of cutting down the entire tree, extract only infected resinous wood sections.
    • Preserve healthy tissues for tree survival and regeneration.
  3. Sustainability Cycle
    • Apply rotation harvesting plans so plantations always have trees at different maturity stages.
    • Replant seedlings after each harvest to maintain stock.
  4. Quality over Quantity
    • Mature trees yield higher resin concentration, producing superior oil and chips.
    • Controlled harvesting ensures premium-grade agarwood with better market value.

Practicing controlled harvesting protects the long-term viability of plantations, increases economic returns, and supports biodiversity conservation.
