Tree Growth | Blooming Stage | Epsom Salt Drench | Epsom Salt | Biostimulant Drench | Mild Sugar-Based

Epsom salt soil drench for Aquilaria malaccensis (agarwood) is highly beneficial, especially to:
- Correct magnesium deficiency
- Enhance photosynthesis
- Support recovery after inoculation
- Improve root vigor and resin induction readiness
Customized Epsom Salt Soil Drench for Aquilaria malaccensis
Formula (Per Plant or Per Pot):
- Epsom Salt (MgSO₄·7H₂O) – 1 tablespoon
- Molasses (optional) – 1 teaspoon (acts as a microbial feed and chelating agent)
- Water – 1 gallon (3.8 liters) of dechlorinated or rainwater
Instructions:
- Dissolve Epsom salt (and molasses, if used) in 1 gallon of water.
- Apply directly to the soil around the drip line (not at the stem base).
- Use on young and mature trees, especially 1–2 weeks before or after inoculation.
- Apply every 3–4 weeks during the active growing season or inoculation period.
Best Timing for Aquilaria:
Stage | Timing |
---|---|
Vegetative growth (nursery) | Every 4 weeks |
Pre-inoculation phase | 1–2 weeks before inoculation |
Post-inoculation care | 7–10 days after inoculation |
Rainy season (stress recovery) | Once every 3–4 weeks |
Benefits for Aquilaria malaccensis:
- Boosts chlorophyll for healthy leaf color and photosynthetic activity
- Enhances magnesium-dependent enzymatic functions important in stress responses
- Improves root nutrient uptake in preparation for resin induction
- Supports recovery from biotic and abiotic stress, especially after inoculant application
Notes:
- Do not overapply – excess magnesium can lead to nutrient imbalance.
- Use dechlorinated water to preserve soil microbes.
- Avoid applying in waterlogged soils or during heavy rain days.
