Requirements to join AGAP

To join the Agarwood Growers Association of the Philippines Inc. (AGAP), members must meet specific requirements that align with the organization’s mission to promote sustainable agarwood cultivation, trade, and research.


AGAP Membership Requirements

1. Completed Membership Application Form

  • Obtainable from AGAP Secretariat or through affiliated coordinators.
  • Must include:
    • Board Resolution authorizing to join and the official representative to AGAP.
    • Personal/business information
    • Plantation or nursery details
    • Commitment to sustainable and legal practices

2. Proof of Involvement in Agarwood

You must be one of the following:

  • Agarwood farmer or cultivator (with a site)
  • Nursery operator
  • Researcher or academic partner
  • Processor/distiller of agarwood products
  • Investor or stakeholder in agarwood ventures

👉 Supporting documents such as photos, land titles, business registration, or partnership MOAs may be requested.


3. Government Permit or Intent to Comply

While not all members must already hold all permits, the following will strengthen your application:

  • Wildlife Culture Permit (WCuP)
  • Business registration (DTI/SEC)
  • Environmental clearance (CNC/ECC)

4. Membership Fee

  • one-time registration fee of ₱1,000.
  • Annual membership dues for continuing benefits and services

Note: Fees may vary by region and are confirmed during orientation.


5. Commitment to AGAP’s Code of Ethics

Members must agree to:

  • Support sustainable, legal, and CITES-compliant agarwood production
  • Avoid illegal logging or trade of wild Aquilaria species
  • Cooperate with government agencies (DENR-BMB, CENRO, etc.)
  • Share best practices and contribute to capacity-building

OPTIONAL (But Recommended)

  • Attend a local AGAP orientation or seminar
  • Submit your farm profile to be included in the AGAP database
  • Join the AGAP Facebook group or communication channels for updates

You can submit your application to:

  • AGAP National Secretariat (usually based in Cavite or NCR)
  • Regional coordinators or affiliate project hubs.
